Pinsonar vs Local Falcon
Local Falcon and Pinsonar both look at a business on a map, but they measure different things. This page puts the facts side by side, including where Local Falcon is the better choice. What we say about Local Falcon was checked on its own site, localfalcon.com, on 2026-10-20; services change, so check their current pages before you decide.
In short
- Local Falcon measures visibility: it runs a grid of searches over an area and shows where your business ranks at each point, on Google Maps and Apple Maps, and how it appears in AI answers (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and others).
- Pinsonar measures the neighbourhood: it collects the public listings of the businesses of a niche in an area on Yandex Maps, Google Maps and 2GIS, merges the listings of one business into one record and shows ratings, reviews, prices, services and changes next to yours.

Where Local Falcon is stronger
- You need to know where you rank in Google or Apple Maps search from different points of your area. Pinsonar does not measure this at all.
- You care about how AI assistants mention your business.
- Your market is Google and Apple Maps only, and you report rankings to clients.
Where Pinsonar is stronger
- Your customers use Yandex Maps or 2GIS: the Local Falcon site does not mention either of them.
- You want to see what the businesses around you offer and charge, not only where they rank.
- You want one record per business across three maps, and alerts when a neighbour changes a price, a promotion or a rating.
Limits of Pinsonar to keep in mind
The free scan covers a radius of up to 1 km, one category and up to 250 new businesses a day, with a 2-minute pause between reports. It needs Google Chrome and the collector extension, and the data is only what public listings show; accuracy is not guaranteed. Details: free use.
Questions and answers
Can I use both?
Yes. They answer different questions: Local Falcon shows where your business appears in Google and Apple Maps search across an area, Pinsonar shows what your neighbours have on three maps and what changed.
Does Pinsonar track my ranking in map search?
No. Pinsonar reads the public listings of the businesses in an area; it does not measure positions in search results.
