Analyze competitors on maps
Local competition lives on the maps: customers compare ratings, reviews, photos and prices before they ever visit your website. Pinsonar gathers those listings from Yandex Maps, Google Maps and 2GIS into one base, so you can see your neighbours the way a customer does.
What you need
A Pinsonar account, Google Chrome with the collector extension, and about an hour for the first scan.
Step by step
- Pick the area. Click the map at the centre of the place you want to understand, for example the street where a café stands.
- Pick one niche. Type one category, such as "coffee shop" or "hair salon".
- Run the scan. The collector finds the businesses in the zone and then opens each listing. See your first scan.
- Look at the map. Markers are green for ratings of 4.5 and above, amber from 4.0 to 4.4 and red below 4.0. Clusters of green show where the strong neighbours are.
- Sort the table. Sort by rating or by number of reviews, and open the cards of the leaders.
- Open the competitor brief for your own business and choose a radius. It tells you how many direct competitors there are, how your rating and review count compare with the area, who the local leader is and how many neighbours pay for promotion.

What you learn
- Whether your rating is above or below your neighbours, not just above or below a number.
- Which competitors have far more reviews than you, and how long ago they got them.
- Where the presence of a listing is thin: no photos, no services, no website.
- Where there is space: areas with few strong businesses in your niche.
What to do next
Save the filters you liked, export the table to Excel for your team (Excel reports), and rescan the area every month or two to see what moved (change alerts).
The data comes from public listings and is stored with the date it was collected. Its accuracy and completeness are not guaranteed.
Questions and answers
How big an area can I analyze?
While the service is free, a scan covers a radius of up to 1 km around the point you choose, one business category at a time. That is enough for a street, a district centre or a shopping area.
Do I need to be an analyst?
No. The map and the table show ratings and reviews at a glance, and the competitor brief turns them into five plain conclusions.
Try it on your own area.
