Change alerts and history

The bell

At the top right of the application there is a bell with a counter of unread events. Press it to open the notification centre. It has two tabs.

The notification centre with smart alerts (sample data)

Smart alerts

A list of events sorted by importance. You can filter it by level: all, critical, warning or information. Alerts tell you about:

  • a sharp drop of a rating;
  • negative reviews;
  • a competitor starting paid promotion;
  • changes of prices and promotions.

Mark one alert as read, or mark them all as read.

Change feed

A timeline of what changed on the market around you: which competitors changed prices, updated promotions or gained reviews. Use it as a morning check: it answers "what did the neighbours do since I looked last time".

How the changes are found

Changes are found by comparing a listing with its earlier collected version. This needs at least two collections of the area. To keep the picture fresh, rescan an area from My reports; areas collected less than 60 days ago are not collected again, so a rescan is not wasteful.

History of a listing

Open a card and go to the History tab. It shows how the rating and the number of reviews of the listing changed between collections. Compare it with the alerts when you want to understand why a competitor moved.

Good habits

  • Rescan your main area on a regular schedule that suits your niche.
  • Look at the change feed before you change your own prices or promotions.
  • Mark alerts as read once you have dealt with them, so that new ones stand out.

Questions and answers

How often do alerts appear?

Alerts and the change feed are built from the data that your collector gathers. They update when an area is collected again, so the more often you rescan, the fresher they are.

Try it on your own area.
