Compare with competitors
Competitiveness index
On the vs Competitors tab of a card you see an index from 0 to 100. It is built from four parts:

- reputation, up to 40 points;
- presence, up to 20 points;
- marketing, up to 20 points;
- market freedom, up to 20 points.
Below the index you find the weak points of the business and an action plan. The index compares you with your neighbours; it is not a grade of the listing on its own.
Presence index
This is one number from 0 to 100 for "how good the business looks on the maps". It adds points for what is there:
| Part | Points |
|---|---|
| Photos | 20 |
| Reviews | 20 |
| Services or features | 15 |
| Social links | 15 |
| Promotions | 10 |
| Website | 10 |
| Phone | 10 |
The same number appears in the competitor card, the brief and the Excel audit.
Competitor brief
Open it from the card, the table row, the context menu or the marker on the map. Choose a radius: 0.5, 1, 3 or 5 km. The brief shows five things:
- how many direct competitors there are and how strong the pressure is;
- your rating against the average of the area;
- your number of reviews against the area;
- the local leader;
- how many competitors pay for promotion, and the price gaps.
Under the insights there is a table of competitors and a button that downloads the full report as an Excel file.
Market prices
Where businesses have price lists, the analytics show for a service the median price, the normal corridor (the middle half of prices) and the lowest and highest values. The Compare button puts the prices of all neighbours for this service into the table.
Review topics
Reviews are sorted by topics such as service, staff, prices, waiting, cleanliness and atmosphere. You see how your share of positive and negative reviews differs from the average of the area, which shows what neighbours are criticised for.
Questions and answers
Is the index an assessment of my listing on its own?
No. The competitiveness index compares a business with its neighbours of the same category within 1 km. With no neighbours the tab explains why.
Try it on your own area.
