Install the collector in Chrome
What the collector is
The collector is a Chrome extension. It reads the public listings of Yandex Maps, Google Maps and 2GIS in your own browser when your Pinsonar account gives it a job, and sends them to your account. Without a connected collector a scan does not start. What the extension reads and stores is described on the data and security page.
Before you start
- Google Chrome 137 or newer.
- A Pinsonar account. Register or sign in.
Install it
- Sign in to the application and open the scan panel.
- Press Connect Chrome extension. A guide with six steps opens.
- Download the archive from the first step and unpack it into a folder that you will not delete.
- Open
chrome://extensionsin Chrome (the guide has a button that copies the address). - Turn on Developer mode in the top right corner.
- Press Load unpacked and choose the unpacked folder.
- Pin the Pinsonar icon to the toolbar so that its window is always at hand.
Connect it to your account
- In the guide press Create connection token and copy the token.
- Open the extension window, paste the token and confirm.
- At the first start the extension shows what it reads and sends. It does nothing until you agree.
- Back in the application press Check the connection. You should see that the collector is connected and which version it has.
The token works for 30 days. When it expires, create a new one in the same place and paste it again. Treat the token like a password.
Keep it working
- Keep the folder with the extension where it is: Chrome loads the extension from there.
- You can pause the collector in its window and resume it later.
- If a map service shows a captcha, the extension tells you with a notification; solve it in the window it opened, and the work continues.
If the application does not see the collector, open troubleshooting.
